Ronald Serugo

Ronald Serugo (born 5 September 1985) is a boxer from Uganda. He fights in the light flyweight ( up to 48 kg)

Career

By Ronald Serugo, the 1.70 meter size for a Halbfliegengewichtler very large Ugandan boxer, who is trained by Lawrence Kalyango, the first result from 2007 is known. He took this year at the 9th All-African Championships in Algiers in part, had to be there, but in the second round against Japhet Uutomi from Namibia by points ( 9:28 ) admit defeat, finishing in 9th place.

In 2008 he was Ugandan champion in the light flyweight fight for victory, defeating Joseph Kalema. He then went to the second African qualifying tournament for the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, which was held in Windhoek. There, he won his first fight against the Zambians Tresford Kaziwa by points ( 11:3 ). The following semi-final battle he lost clearly against the Moroccans Redouane Bouchtouk ( 12:11 ). In an additional battle for 3rd place he won against the South Africans Lobogang Pilane and thus qualified as the only boxer in his country for the 2008 Olympic Games. In Beijing he was during the invasion of standard-bearer of his Ugandan team and he hit right in the first round on Pürewdordschiin Serdamba from Mongolia, who later won the Olympic silver medal. He gave this a big fight, he lost only with 5:9 matches. He was eliminated in the final and finished 17th place.

2009 Ronald Serugo was at the World Championships in Milan in the light flyweight at the start. He defeated there in his first fight the English champion Tommy Stubbs convincingly on points ( 11:2 ), but dropped out after one defeat ( 3:17 ) from in the second round against the South Koreans Shin Jong -hun and arrived on the 9th Place.

In the Ugandan Cup 2010, wanted to compete in the light flyweight at the Ronald Serugo again, he was overweight and therefore could not start. But in 2011 he again won the Ugandan champion in the light flyweight, where he beat in the final battle Umar Mutebi 3-2 judges' votes.
