Roni Size

Roni Size (born 29 October 1969 in Bristol, England as Ryan Owen Granville Williams) is an influential drum and bass producer and DJ.

Life

Roni Size grew up as the son of Jamaican immigrants in St Andrew's, a suburb of Bristol. At 16, he was expelled from school and house parties began to visit, which were hosted by the Wild Bunch sound system, have emerged from the later among other Massive Attack. The basics of music production he learned at the local youth club, before finally einrichtete own studio.

In 1992, he met DJ Krust with a year later the music label Full Cycle Records called into life. In 1997, the double album New Forms appeared the newly founded by Roni Size Reprazent collective music, for which he was awarded the Mercury Prize. According to the Guinness Book of World Records in 2002 it is considered the best-selling drum -and- bass album. 2001 they found Roni Size MC Tali, with whom he recorded the plate Lyric on my Lip.
