Ronja the Robber's Daughter ( Original title: Ronja Rövardotter ) is a children's book of the Swedish author Astrid Lindgren, published in 1981. The original illustrations are by Ilon Wikland. The book has been translated into numerous languages ​​and an international success.

Action

Ronja is the daughter of the robber chief Mattis and his wife Lovis. It grows on the Matti Matti castle in the forest along with their parents and their band of robbers, until she meets one day Borkasohn Birk, the son of the warring robber chief Borka and his wife Undis.
