Ronnie Bowlby

Ronald Oliver Bowlby ( born August 16, 1926) is a British Anglican clergyman.

Biography

Bowlby completed an education at Eton College and at Trinity College, Oxford. After his ordination to the Anglican priest, he first worked as a curate in the parish of St. Luke's, in Pallion, Sunderland. Subsequently, he worked as a priest in parish of St. Aidan, Billingham and curate in Croydon up to his elevation to the episcopate.

Bowlby was from 1972 to 1980 Bishop of Newcastle and Bishop of Southwark from 1980 to 1991. Bowlby was in his capacity as Bishop of Newcastle and, as Bishop of Southwark from 1976 until his retirement in 1991 as minister Lord the House of Lords officially.
