Ronnie Kasrils

Ronnie Kasrils (* November 15, 1938 in Johannesburg, real name Ronald Kasrils ), is a South African politician and author. It was from April 27, 2004 to 25 September 2008 Chief of the South African Secret Service (Minister for Intelligence Services) and from December 1986 to 2008 Member of the Central Committee of the South African Communist Party ( SACP, SACP ).

Kasrils was married for 45 years with the Scottish- South African anti-apartheid activist Eleanor Kasrils ( 1936-2009 ), from the marriage were two sons and a daughter out. He won the 2011 Alan Paton Award for his book The Unlikely Secret Agent, the ANC as an agent of his wife's work on the subject.
