Rörvik

Rörvik is a place ( tätort ) in the Swedish province of Jönköping County, the historical province of Småland. It is part of the municipality Sävsjö and counts 523 inhabitants ( as of 2010) and is located south of the township.

Rörvik is surrounded by several lakes. To the east is the Allgunen, on the banks of a small harbor located. In the lake the place the island Ljungö is upstream. To the south lies the small Fållekullsgölen. On the west of the town situated Svinasjön there is a bathhouse. North of the town extends Hillen. Area Rörviks is characterized by the hilly landscape of southern Swedish highlands with extensive forests.

The village lies on the railway line Södra stambanan the Malmö connects with Katrine Holm and emerged with the construction of the line. The railway line was opened in this section on January 1, 1914. Rörvik but is not currently operated in passenger transport. On July 1, 1916 Opened in place a post. Listed on the Stock Exchange Rörvik Timber AB has its origin in Rörvik. Also here the wooden houses of the company Rörvikshus are produced.

In Draget, just south of Rörvik, is the school museum Dragets Skolmuseum.

The Swedish author Carin Rickardsson ( b. 1942 ) grew up in the area Rörviks.
