Rory Morrison

Rory Morrison (born August 5, 1964 in London, England; † June 11, 2013 in St Albans ) was a British radio presenter of BBC Radio 4

Life and work

Rory Morrison was born in 1964 as the first of three children of Anne and Bob Morrison in London. He grew up in Malvern, Worcestershire and attended the Chase School and Malvern College. In 1986, Morrison with a degree in English Studies at Durham University.

His radio career began as a travel reporter and presenter at the independent local radio station Radio Beacon, which was sent in Shropshire, Wolverhampton and the Black Country.

1990 Rory first began working for the local radio BBC. He hosted his own show on BBC Radio Leeds and also worked for BBC Radio York and BBC Radio Cleveland. He then worked for the British Forces Broadcasting Service.

In April 1994, Rory Morrison began working as a radio announcer for Radio 4. Later, he worked as a news anchor and made regularly at The News Quiz with.

In 1994 he married the journalist Nikki Jenkins. They met while working at BBC Radio Leeds know. The two became parents of two children, Honor and Reuben.

2004 Rory Morrison is a rare type of non-Hodgkin 's lymphoma was diagnosed. After the diagnosis, he helped raise funds for the Association Lymphoma Association.

In April 2008, a group of Radio 4 newscasters to a broadcast of the radio program Ramblings participated, during which they ran through the countryside in the vicinity of the Castle Herstmonceux Castle to raise money for the charity.

In June 2013 Rory Morrison died at the age of 48 years to his cancer in St Albans.
