Rościno

Roscino ( German Rostin ) is a village in the West Pomeranian Voivodeship in Poland. It belongs to the municipality Białogard ( Belgard ) in the powiat Białogardzki.

Geographical location

Roscino located five kilometers west of Białogard on a side road that branches off from the Province Road 163 in the middle between Białogard and Karlino ( Körlin ). The southern boundary is formed by the local Persante, the northwest of the municipality borders the city Karlino.

History

Documented Rostin is first mentioned in the 17th century. A memorable date was June 24 ( St. John's ) 1847, when a major fire destroyed half of the village.

In 1867, 333 residents lived in the farming village ( along with the living space Uhlenburg ), whose family belonged to 16 farmers, two Kossäten and two Büdnern. The fertile meadows at the Persante offered good site conditions, especially in the livestock sector.

1936 Rostin was known far beyond the borders of Germany: The construction of the " first underwater power plant in the world". The course of the river had to be straightened to Persante from Belgard to Rostin to increase the flow rate. The great success of the work, however, did not materialize.

In 1939 lived 229 inhabitants in 52 households in Rostin, which included a community area of ​​1135.7 hectares.

Until 1945 the village belonged to the district of Belgard ( Persante ) and formed with Old Lülfitz, New Lülfitz Redlin and the Office Lülfitz. Civil ceremony, the village was connected to Roggow. The district court was in Belgard.

Last mayor before 1945 was Albert Trapp.

On March 3, 1945 Rostin was occupied by Soviet troops. The expulsion of the indigenous population began in the summer of 1945. Nowadays, the place belongs under the name Roscino the Polish rural community Białogard.

Church

Rostin until 1945 incorporated into the parish of St Mary's parish Belgard and thus belonged to the church Belgard county in Pomerania church of the Evangelical Church of the Old Prussian Union.

Today Roscino is part of Parafia Koszalin ( Koszalin ) in the Diocese of Pomerania - Greater Poland the Polish Evangelical-Augsburg Church.

School

The place had a room school until 1945.
