Rose Parade

The Rose Parade (actually Tournament of Roses Parade ) is the largest parade in California. It takes place annually on the 1st of January and is visited by over one million viewers, next it will be broadcast live on television.

It was founded on 1 January 1890, held in Pasadena, that is, eight miles (13 km ) north east of downtown Los Angeles, for the first time. Since January 1, 1923 is followed by the parade at the so-called Rose Bowl college football game. The relocation of the Rose Bowl on January 4, in the years 2002 and 2006 because of the BCS National Championship Game led to significant protests.
