Rosemary Dunsmore

Rosemary Dunsmore ( born 1953 in Edmonton, Alberta ) is a Canadian film and theater actress, director and drama teacher.

Life

Dunsmore occurred since the mid-1970s on the Canadian theater. Among other things, she appeared in productions of Sam Shepard's Buried Child and Marsha Norman's Getting Out. Since the early 1980s, she is also active in Canadian television productions.

In 1982 she received for her role in the play Straight Ahead / Blind Dancers Dora Mavor Moore Award in a category Outstanding Performance by a Female in a Leading Role.

An international audience it was created in 1990 by a short but concise role as Dr. Lull in Paul Verhoeven's sci-fi film Total Recall - Total Recall known. In Canada, it is primarily with their roles in television series such as Anne of Green Gables: The Sequel (1987 ), Avonlea - The girl from the city ( 1990-1995) and Mom PI (1990 ) connected.

For her role in the play Wit at Montreal Centaur Theatre in 2001, she received outstanding reviews and was awarded the Masque Award for Best Actress. In 2005, she joined the Berkeley Street Theatre Toronto, in a production of the play The Glass Menagerie in the lead role of Amanda Wingfield on.

For her role as a mother of a lesbian girl wanting a child in the film The Baby Formula Dunsmore was awarded the 2009 Canadian ACTRA Award.

Dunsmore led in various theater productions directed by, among others, the Atlantic Theatre Festival, the Utah Shakespearean Festival and the Mantiba Theatre Centre.
