Rosina Wachtmeister

Rosina Wachtmeister ( born January 7, 1939 in Vienna) is an Austrian visual artist.

She grew up on the Attersee in Upper Austria, and moved at the age of 14 years to Brazil. In Porto Alegre, she attended an art school where she studied sculpture and stage design. Through numerous exhibitions she quickly became known internationally.

In 1974, Sergeant back to Europe; Today she lives in Capena in Rome.

As a representative of contemporary naive art she prefers romantic motifs and painted in characteristic style depictions of cats. Your images are widely used on posters and artifacts and operate successfully the mass taste. The about their motives ( as the similarly popular Hummel figurines ) of the porcelain manufacturer Goebel produced and sold ceramic figures are purchased by collectors throughout the world.

The early works sergeant is little known in Germany. Carved dolls that she created in Brazil are exhibited in the International Youth Library in Castle Blood Castle in Munich.
