Roslyn O. Silver

Roslyn O. Silver ( born 1946 in Phoenix, Arizona) is an American lawyer and current federal judge who for the District of Arizona has been working since 1994 on the United States District Court. It was in 2011 Chief Judge of the District Court.

Roslyn O. Silver was born in 1946 as Roslyn O. Moore in Phoenix. She received a bachelor's degree in 1968 from the University of California, Santa Barbara in 1971 and a Juris Doctor from Arizona State University College of Law. From 1971 to 1972 she was a legal secretary ( law clerk ) for Judge Lorna Lockwood at the Arizona Supreme Court you had then from 1972 to 1974 his own law firm in Phoenix.

Silver worked in the sequence from 1974 to 1976 as a consultant and forensic scientist for the Education Division of the Native American Rights Fund of the Navajo Nation. She was employed consultant working for the Greyhound corporation integrated by 1976 until 1978. Silver was nominated on 14 September 1994 by President Bill Clinton for a seat on the United States District Court for the District of Arizona, which had become vacant by the exchange of Earl H. Carroll in the senior status. It was confirmed by the Senate of the United States on 7 October 1994 and took office on 11 October 1994. Silver was 2011 Presiding Judge after the fatal shooting of his time the Chief Judge John McCarthy Roll during the assassination attempt on Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords.
