Roß- und Buchstein

Roßstein (left) and Buchstein (right) of the Sun -Alm

Ross and Buchstein are two prominent mountains in the Bavarian Alps. The twin peaks are accessible either from Bad Wiessee or from Weißach Valley west of Wildbad Kreuth. Until the beautifully situated at 1,650 meters above sea level Tegernsee hut in the saddle between the two peaks it is - on the north side (, Indian trail ') - a mountain hike. From the south one in the upper section of wire ropes secured path to the hut.

The ascent of the 1,698 m high Roßstein is possible via a simple schrofigen ridge. The ascent of the 1,701 m high stone book, however, requires a short climb and stripped down from a good 30 meters above sea level through a trough ( UIAA II). The south side of the stone book offers with the sun disk numerous climbing routes of varying degrees of difficulty, including the Via wheat beer whose exit leads directly to the terrace of the hut in the seventh degree of difficulty. The detached Roßsteinnadel with height around 35 m is to climb with various difficulty levels ( UIAA III- VIII).
