Rossendale

Rossendale is a local government district with the status of a borough in the county of Lancashire in England. Administrative seat is the town of Rawtenstall. Other important towns are Bacup, Edenfield, Haslingden, Ramsbottom and Whitworth. It is twinned with Bocholt in Germany.

The district was formed on 1 April 1974 and evolved from the merger of the boroughs of Bacup, Haslingden and Rawtenstall, the Whitworth Urban District and parts of Ramsbottom Urban District.
