Geographical Location

The market Rosstal is located about 15 kilometers west of Nuremberg. On the northern edge of the beaver flows through the municipal area.

History

  • 954: first documentary mention Roßtals by Widukind as " Horsadal "
  • 1050: In a Bamberger deed of 1050 the place name " Rossestal " appears.
  • 12th and 13th centuries: You write the place name " Rostal ".
  • 1328: " Rostal " is replaced by the Emperor Louis of Bavaria, the town and market rights.
  • After 1328: The suffix " - stal " later becomes " stall": " Roßstall ".

  • 1910: Establishment of the electric light. The transformer station was located in the town meadow at Mühlbach.

Railway

Rosstal is situated on the Route number 891.7 (Nuremberg, Germany - Ansbach - Crailsheim ).
