Royal Albert Dock

The Royal Albert Dock is one of three docks for the Royal Docks in London's East End and is now one of the Docklands area.

History

The basin was built east of the previously incurred Royal Victoria Dock from the St. Katharine Docks London & Company and was opened in 1880. It was even bigger than the Royal Victoria Dock with over 4.8 kilometers of quay and had a driveway from Gallion 's Reach of the Thames ago. Today

The most important institution in the field of port facilities is now the London City Airport, the single airstrip was built along the south side of the harbor, so the Royal Albert Dock, at the northern boundary of the airport. The padded dry dock ship repair works are now under the airstrip. Aircraft movements can be observed clearly from the largely publicly accessible north side of the harbor.

The traffic access to the harbor on the north side was significantly improved. There are new roads and the Beckton Line Docklands Light Railway runs along the harbor. At the Royal Albert Dock are the dragon boat racing clubs Typhoon DBC, DBC Thames and Raging Dragons, and the Royal Docks Rowing Club, which consists mainly of minor members.
