Royal Canberra Show

The Royal Canberra Show is one of the Royal National Capital Agricultural Society ( RNCAS ) conducted agricultural fair in the Australian capital Canberra. While agriculture is important, but over the years other elements have been added, especially in the field of entertainment.

The origin of the fair dates back to the year 1908, when the Ginninderra Farmers' Union led by a small fair for the first time. In 1915 this was held for the last time on the resolution of these farmers' association. 1924 and 1925 organized the Advance Hall and District Association two other fairs. The event of 1927 is considered the first "official" exhibition of RNCAS. From 1931 it took two days.

1963 the fair took place for the last time in the old Hall Showground. 1964, the new 40 -acre site was purchased, the Canberra Showgrounds. From 1972, the event lasted just three days. 1973 took place the Australian sheep shearing championship for the first time in Canberra. In 1975 there was the first time more than 100,000 visitors. 1978 Canada was invited as the first host country. By the term " Royal" the fair in 1979 received the highest possible recognition. Meanwhile approaches the number of visitors to the 200,000 mark.
