The history of the Royal High School ( RHS ) in Edinburgh can be traced back to 1128, which they considered to be the oldest school in Scotland and one of the oldest in Europe. First, the school to Holyrood Abbey belonged (see Holyrood Palace ), later she became an institution for the training of Franciscans. By 1974, the Royal High School was a private school. Then it was taken over by the City of Edinburgh. The school is known for her strict upbringing, where school uniforms are compulsory.
