Royal Pains

Royal Pains is an American drama series starring Mark Feuerstein in the role of young doctor Henry " Hank " Lawson, who loses his job due to a controversial decision in a clinic and with his younger brother Evan Lawson moves to the Hamptons. There, Hank is by chance GP for the rich and famous after he saves the life of a woman at a party.

Action

At the beginning of the series, Dr. Henry " Hank " Lawson is practiced as a doctor at a hospital in Brooklyn. However, he is released already in the first episode. The reason for this is that he prefers the treatment of unstable patients, the main sponsor of the hospital, which he has already stabilized. However, by a series of unfortunate circumstances of this main sponsor loses his life, and Hank is released. Through the dissemination of this incident by the hospital management, it also fails Hank to find a new job, even though he is a very talented doctor. Struck by this fate Hank sinks into melancholy. His fiancee says the wedding planned and separates herself from him, he gets into debt and spends most of his time drinking beer in front of the TV. Until the day in which his brother Evan wants to take him to a party in the Hamptons. Initially, Hank defends against the idea, but finally both go to said party. This is organized by a living in the Hamptons German who calls himself only " Boris ". Boris is very concerned about discretion and attaches great importance to privacy. As one of the guests collapses at the party and Boris ' private doctor just diagnosed with a substance abuse, Hank intervenes, he sees a poisoning of the young woman. He treats her and saves her thus the therapy against drug abuse, which would have cost her her life. Since this treatment Hank has been forced into it virtually in the role of the private physician of the "rich and famous". With its slightly pushy brother and the medical- technical assistant Divya Katdare the help he has decided, after some initial hesitancy to open the company HankMed ( a mobile medical service ), which mainly the rich, but also the less well-off, residents of the Hamptons is available. To remain convinced he was the director of the local hospital, Jill Casey, who he met at the party and with which he leads a somewhat complicated relationship during the series.

The series runs in the USA Original Air Date on the USA Network. The first season with pilot and eleven other episodes ran from 4 May to 27 August 2009. From 3 June 2010 to 24 February 2011, the 18 episodes complete second season was aired. Already in September 2010 also 18 episodes complete third season was ordered, which was broadcast between 29 June 2011 and February 22, 2012 by USA Network. In September 2011, the station announced the production of a comprehensive 16 episodes season four known, however, was later reduced to 14 episodes.

In September 2012, USA Network announced under the title of Off- Season Greetings a Christmas television movie for the series known in the wedding of Evan and Paige is discussed. The broadcast of the film took place on 16 December, 2012. End of September 2012 extended the USA Network series about a fifth and sixth season with 13 episodes. The fifth season was aired from 12 June until 11 September 2013.

Germany

The broadcast in Germany and thus the language German Original Air Date occurs on RTL. The first season ran from 17 May to 2 August 2011. Came the series average 2.79 million viewers and thus to 13.0 percent of the total audience. Even with 17.6 per cent at 1.64 million viewers the target demographic was Royal Pains on RTL channels section.

The first five episodes of the second season were sent immediately after the first season, they reached market share from 16.4 to 12.5 percent. The remaining episodes of the second season were shown between 31 January and 24 April, 2012. Overall, the odds of the second season fell away during the broadcast on RTL. On average, only 2.28 million viewers watched or 10.1 percent of the total audience, so Royal Pains came to 1.35 million viewers, or 14.1 percent of the target demographic.

Switzerland

The first season of the series was broadcast from 6 June 2011 in Switzerland on SRF two. The second season of the series was sent on 5 December 2011 to 19 March 2012. The third season will air in April 2013.

Austria
