Royal TESO

The Teso (NV texel own Stoomboot Onderneming ) operates ferries for passengers and vehicles between the northern Dutch port of Den Helder and Texel. The passage takes about 20 minutes between the two ports. Currently, two vessels in use, the Schulpengat and Dokter Wagemaker, depending on the season there are in each direction hourly or half-hourly trips.

History

In order to allow the residents a better connection to the mainland and to control the beginning of tourism in the direction of Texel, it was decided to start up their own ferry company. This was founded in 1907 and on 22 January 1908 as NV entered.

Ports

From 1907 until the 1960s Oudeschild was used as a ferry port. Today Oudeschild is used almost exclusively, or even as a fishing port and dock for private boats.

To shorten the passages, it was decided in the 1960s to build on the southern tip of Texel, a new ferry terminal. Since then, the Teso ships dock almost exclusively in 't Horntje.

Ferry times

• 't Horntje → Den Helder: hourly from 6:00 bis 21:00 clock clock
• Den Helder → ' t Horntje: hourly from 6:30 bis 21:30 clock
• On Sundays and public holidays, travels the first boat - depending on the season - one hour or two hours later.
• Discounted rates: Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays reduced by 30%

• At the peak travel season, the ferries run every half hour.
