Rozalia Lubomirska

Rozalia Chodkiewicz Lubomirska (also Rozalia Chernobyl; born September 16, 1768 in Chernobyl, Poland - Lithuania, Ukraine today, † June 30, 1794 in Paris, France) was the daughter of the Polish nobleman Jan Mikołaj Count Chodkiewicz and Marie Louise Chodkiewicz, born Rzewuska. Rozalia was descended from the noble Chodkiewicz and was by marriage, as Rozalia Lubomirska princess of the house Lubomirski.

Life

The politically active Lubomirska was one of the most beautiful Polish women of her time and married in 1786 Prince Aleksander Lubomirski ( 1751-1804 ), the Castellan of Kiev. With him she had a daughter, Rozalia Lubomirska ( 1788-1865 ).

Lubomirska is considered one of the most energetic supporters of the Four Years' Sejm and the new Constitution of May 3, 1791.

During a stay in Paris Rozalia had been arrested and was in contact with the Girondists during the French Revolution as a royalist conspirator and guillotined.
