Roztoky (RakovnÃk District)
Roztoky ( German Rostok ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located 13 kilometers south-east of Rakovníka and belongs to Okres Rakovník.
Geography
Roztoky is located north of Pürglitzer mountain country ( Křivoklátská Highlands ) opposite the mouth of the creek Rakovnický in a flow loop at the Berounka. The municipality is located in the conservation area Pürglitzer forest. To the south, the Beraník rises ( Sheep Mountain ) with 498 m.
Neighboring towns are Městečko ( Stadtl ) and Křivoklát ( Křivoklát ) in the north, Pohořelec ( Pohorzeletz ) and Újezd nad Zbečnem ( Augezd whether Zbetschno ) in the Northeast, Zbečno ( Zbetschno ) and Račice ( Radschitz ) in the east, Častonice ( Tschastonitz ) and Leontýn ( animal garden ) in the southeast, Karlova Ves ( Charles village ) in the south, Branov ( Branow ) in the southwest and Velka Buková ( United Bukowa ) in the northwest.
History
There was originally an extinct around 1370 the court of the Pürglitzer castellan Jíra Roztoky At the site of the present village. In its place, the 1406 first mentioned village and the rule Křivoklát was associated village.
1779 was built next to the village of Karlhof. The former farmyard grew into a small settlement. In 1820, the hunting lodge built in Obora Pürglitzer forest, this was Max zu Fürstenberg 1865-1866 to a Neo-Gothic castle for his wife Leontine, born of Khevenhüller modify it.
After the establishment of an iron works by the Prince of Fürstenberg in 1824 the city experienced an economic boom. At the beginning of the 20th century, the textile mill stone & Son was created. After 1945, a machine tool factory was established in Roztoky, emerged from the in the 1960s, the compressed air equipment manufacturer PERMON. In the valley of the brook Klucná is the holiday resort Údolí hříchů, which is one of the oldest in the Czech Republic.
