Rubén Juárez

Rubén Juárez ( born November 5, 1947 in Ballesteros, Córdoba, † 31 May, 2010 Buenos Aires ) was an Argentine singer, bandoneon player and composer of tango music.

Juárez ' parents moved with Rubén two years after his birth to Buenos Aires, where he was given his first bandoneon hours at the age of six years.

At the age of nine years Rubén debuted as a bandoneon player in the orchestra de club Independiente, where he played for three years. He started to sing at the same time on different Penias and clubs. He also played in various rock bands before devoting himself exclusively to tango.

1962 won Juárez a prize as best tango singer in the cafeteria " La Huella del Tango". This first experience and the death of his idol Julio Sosa led him to become tanguero. He learned Héctor Arbelo, the former guitarist of Julio Sosa know, and toured with him through Argentina.

Horacio Quintana, well-known singer Lucio Demare, attention was drawn to him and brought him in 1969 to the famous Tango Club at that time, the Cano 14 he got in 1969 a contract with the label Odeon and starred in the TV show Sabados Circulares by which he nationwide was known. Rubén Juárez worked with tango musicians like Carlos García, Armando Pontier, Raúl Garello, Roberto Grela and Leopoldo Federico. Juárez led for many years the local Cafe Homero in Buenos Aires, occurred in the important musicians of the tango as Roberto Goyeneche.

Rubén Juárez as Tango makers worked most recently as a hub between tradition and the new generations of tango. He also performed with rock stars and dominated a tango style that is in his bandoneon playing deep emotional and at the same time virtuosic and full rhythmically with his singing. In recent years, although he had no longer the crystal clear voice of his young years, but gained very in depth and expressive power.

On 31 May 2010 Rubén Juárez died in a hospital in the Argentine capital Buenos Aires.
