Rubidiumhydrogensulfat is a rubidium salt of sulfuric acid.
Production
Rubidiumhydrogensulfat can be prepared by reaction of stoichiometric quantities of water and Rubidiumdisulfat under strict exclusion of moisture.
Analogously to the synthesis of potassium and sodium bisulfate Rubidiumhydrogensulfat from rubidium and moderately warm, concentrated sulfuric acid can be produced. As a byproduct hydrogen chloride.
Properties
Physical Properties
Rubidiumhydrogensulfat is hygroscopic. It crystallizes in the monoclinic crystal system, space group P21 / n with lattice parameters a = 1440 pm, b = 462.2 pm, c = 1436 pm and β = 118.0 °. The crystals are isomorphic to the crystals of ammonium bisulfate.
The standard enthalpy of Rubidiumhydrogensulfat is -1166 kJ / mol. The heat of solution is -15.62 kJ / mol.
Chemical Properties
When annealing Rubidiumhydrogensulfat goes into Rubidiumdisulfat elimination of water.
Similar to potassium and cesium also exists a higher hydrogen sulfate with the formula of rubidium Rb3H (SO4 ) 2
