Rubis (rocket)

VE 210 Rubis is the name of a French two-stage test rocket. As a first stage, the Rubis uses an Agate, as a second stage, a P064. The Rubis has a summit elevation of 2000 kilometers, a takeoff thrust of 186.00 kN, a diameter of 0.80 m and a length of 9.60 m. The Rubis was started eleven times from 10 June 1964 to 5 July 1967. Up to the last launch, which took place from Biscarrosse, all Rubis rockets were launched from the Centre d' Essais d' engins Interarmées spéciaux in Algeria. It served to test the upper stage of the rocket later diamond.

It belonged to the French VE ( Vehicles Experimental ) program for the development of air, silo or submarine -based ICBM or the development of launch vehicles, which also includes the VE8, VE9, VA10 Aigle, VE110 Agate, Topaze VE111, VE121 Emeraude and the VE231 sapphire belonged.
