Dewberry (Rubus caesius )

The dewberry (Rubus caesius ), also Frosted blackberry, Bock berry, berry Kroatzbeere or arable called, is a species in the large genus of blackberries (Rubus ), namely from the subgenus Rubus.

Features

It is half- shrubs, whose often prostrate rods reach lengths of only 30 to 60 cm. The plants are sparsely covered with bristle-like spines.

The leaves are pinnate threes. Fünfzählig pinnate leaves as with many other species of the genus occur only in exceptional cases. The lateral leaflets are nearly sessile. In the mature leaves, the leaflets are hardly longer than wide.

Occurrence

It is widespread in Europe and northern Asia.
