Rudolf Hruska

Rudolf Hruska ( born July 2, 1915 in Vienna, † December 4, 1995 in Turin) was an automobile designer who has worked especially for the company Alfa Romeo.

Life

After studying at the Vienna School of Engineering Hruska initially worked for Ferdinand Porsche in the development of the KdF car. After the Second World War he was instrumental in the development of the Cisitalia racing car. In 1951 he moved to Alfa Romeo. Hruska had first task in 1900 at the plant to improve productivity in the production of the Alfa Romeo Portello. This then was the first mass production of vehicles at Alfa Romeo. In 1954 he was appointed technical director. In 1959 the management of the Portello plant was entrusted to him. From dissatisfaction with personnel changes, he then moved to Simca and later at Fiat. The Simca 1000 models and Fiat 128 124/Fiat have been shaped by him.

In 1967 he received the offer from Alfa Romeo to build the new Alfasud. It should encompass the vehicle to a complete redesign, as well as build a completely new plant in Pomigliano d' Arco near Naples and put into operation. Upon successful completion of this great project, he was given responsibility for design, development, research and design in the headquarters in Arese 1974. 1980 from Hruska retired at the age of 65 years. As a consultant, he remained the automotive industry still connected several years.
