Rudolf Ströbinger

Rudolf Ströbinger ( born March 5, 1931 in Milíčovice ( German Milleschitz ), South Moravia, † 1 December 2005 in Hage, Ostfriesland ) was a Czech- German journalist, publicist and author.

Life

Rudolf Ströbinger was born in Moravia in Czechoslovakia. After his studies and doctorate he worked until 1968 as deputy editor of the Prague daily " Lidová demokracie " ( German People's Democracy ).

During the Prague Spring in 1968 he was one of the first Czech journalists who have been subject to a comprehensive publication ban. Due to the limitations of his work, he moved to Germany. Ströbinger was temporarily head of the Czechoslovak editors at Deutsche Welle in Cologne.

For 22 years Ströbinger was hired as president in the International PEN belonging " center exiled writers of German-speaking countries" ( Exile PEN Club ).

Rudolf Ströbinger has published 20 books, which move in the context of politics and contemporary history. His works " The mystery Wallenberg ", " Stalin decapitated the Red Army - the case Tukhachevsky " and " Fateful Years on the Vltava " became known internationally.
