Rudolf Wille

Rudolf Wille ( born November 2, 1937 in Bremen ) is a German mathematician and Emeritus Professor at the Department of Mathematics at the Technical University of Darmstadt.

Will studied mathematics, musicology and philosophy at the University of Marburg and the Johann -Wolfgang- Goethe- University Frankfurt am Main. In 1961 he resigned his state examination in mathematics and in 1963 in school music and 1966 he was in Frankfurt a doctorate in mathematics at the Ernst-August Behrens (half Complementary associations). In 1970 he joined the Chair in Darmstadt; He is since 1976 also Board member of the Institute of Philosophy at the Technical University of Darmstadt, since 1983 head of the research group Formal concept analysis and since 1993 Chairman of the " Ernst Schröder Centre for Conceptual Knowledge Processing" (see also: Ernst Schröder ). In 2003 he became Professor Emeritus.

His research interests include General Algebra, order and lattice theory, Foundations of Geometry, Discrete Mathematics, measurement theory, mathematical music theory, philosophy of science, Formal Concept Analysis, Conceptual Knowledge Processing and Contextual logic.

He supervised more than 100 graduate and State Thesis in Mathematics, 52 Doctoral and Habilitation 8.
