Rudolf Zedi

Rudolf " Rudi " Zedi ( born August 31, 1974 in Essen) is a German football coach, who was active as a player until 2012.

Career

As a player

In youth Zedi played for VfB Essen-Nord and Rot-Weiss Essen. In the second division team from RWE he came on June 11, 1994 on his first professional application that should remain his only wearing the jersey of the club. The team rose from 1994 and he went to black and white food.

In 1996 he moved to the then first division Fortuna Dusseldorf, where he did not come initially in the first team to use. After eleven operations in the second division season 1998/99 he was able to win a regular place in the people of Düsseldorf in the following season in the Regionalliga West / Southwest for the first time. In 2000, he joined with his team in the North Season. After the descent of Fortuna Dusseldorf from the Regional he left the club and was standing in the 2002/03 season at the Chemnitz FC under contract. He then moved for two years to Rot- Weiß Erfurt. As a regular player in the defense he had in the first year major role in the rise in the second Bundesliga, but after only one year followed the descent again. After a season of VfR Aalen Zedi played for Kickers Emden, where he also held the captain's office. With the East Frisians, he qualified in 2008 for the new single-track 3 league. In the three years in the North, he played at least 30 games in each season and was a total of 13 goals quite successfully for a defensive player.

For the 2009/10 season changed Zedi the second division SC Paderborn 07 and signed a contract until 30 June 2011. However, where he usually came only as a substitute for use and therefore dissolved the contract in late May 2010 to early in order to FC Rot - Weiß Erfurt return. After two successful years, during which he completed each of 37 of the 38 season games, he played 5 May 2012 his last game as an active soccer player.

As coach

He was then further contracted by Rot-Weiß Erfurt to the association. He shares the position of assistant coach with Henri Fuchs, who is temporarily absent because of its parallel training as football coach at the Sports University in Cologne.

Private

His parents are members of the Hungarian minority in Serbia. His twin brother Kristian was also a professional footballer. He is married to Marika Zedi - Reichelt and has a daughter.
