Rufus Wainwright

Rufus McGarrigle Wainwright ( born July 22, 1973 in Rhinebeck, New York ) is a Canadian- American singer-songwriter and composer. He has seven studio albums and numerous songs for film soundtracks recorded, a classic opera composed and set to music for a play by director Robert Wilson Shakespeare sonnets.

Private life

Rufus Wainwright came on 22 July 1973 as the first child of folk singers Loudon Wainwright III and Kate McGarrigle in Rhinebeck, New York to the world. His younger sister Martha - who is also a musician - was born in 1976.

Wainwright grew up after her parents divorced and his mother and his sister in Montreal, Canada, bilingual, but today has his main residence in New York.

At a concert in the Berlin Passion Church Rufus Wainwright met his life companion, the Berlin Jörn Weisbrodt to know. The two live together in New York. They got engaged in late 2010. The wedding took place in Montauk, New York on 23 August 2012.

On February 2, 2011 his daughter Viva Katherine Wainwright Cohen was born in Los Angeles. The mother is Lorca Cohen, daughter of Leonard Cohen.
