Rui Veloso

Rui Manuel Gaudêncio Veloso ( born July 30, 1957 in Lisbon, Portugal) is a Portuguese singer, composer and guitarist. It is also called the father of Portuguese rock because he appeared as one of the first interpreters of the blues in the 1980s. His first group was called garages Magara Blues Band. He was an admirer of B.B. King and Eric Clapton was quickly known internationally, and after his first appearances in the Coliseu Porto and Lisbon Coliseu dos Recreios he was regarded as "the" Portuguese Bluesman. His songs and ballads are virtually unknown to most Portuguese and belong to the popular musical heritage.

On 2 June 2006, he was at the festival Rock in Rio in Lisbon next to world-famous musicians such as Carlos Santana and Roger Waters.

In 2006, Rui Veloso celebrated which his childhood spent in Porto, in a famous live concert the 25th anniversary of his music career and fulfilled an old dream, he opened his own record label and music publishing Estúdio de Vale de Lobos.
