Running board

A running board is mounted automotive part that as narrow - it is appropriate step below the side doors of a vehicle - not fold. It facilitates entry, especially at high vehicles such as all-terrain vehicles and pickup trucks. It is typical of classic cars that much more ground clearance had than today's vehicles and is now used as a fashion design part on vehicles that do not actually need it.

Running boards are sometimes also used to stand on while a vehicle is in motion.
