Russi Karanjia

Rustom Khurshedji Karanjia (usually RK Karanjia or Russi Karanjia, Gujarati: .. .. આર કે કરંજિયા AR Ke Karañjiyā; born September 15, 1912 in Bombay, † February 1, 2008 ) was an Indian journalist, editor and author.

Life

Rustom Karanjia is the eldest son of the ophthalmologist Khurshedji Karanjia and his wife Temina; much of his childhood he spent with his maternal grandparents, the businessman Burjorji Patel and his wife Ruttonbai in Quetta He completed his education at St. Xavier's School and College and Wilson College in Bombay. During his college years, he began his journalistic work and was employed in the 1930s as an editorial assistant at The Times of India.

1941 founded Karanjia, after consultation with the experienced editors BV Nadkarni and Benjamin Guy Horniman, the weekly magazine flash, which was prescribed to the investigative journalism. While Japan's Burma campaign, he served as a war correspondent in Assam and Burma. Later he took over the post of chief editor of Blitz and published several political journalism books. The risks associated with flash authors Khwaja Ahmad Abbas and also included the Ramon Magsaysay Award - winner P. Sainath. In the 1990s, the magazine was discontinued.

Since 1976, the Parse Karanjia was a follower of the Hindu guru Sathya Sai Baba. From 1991 to 1997 he was a member of the Rajya Sabha. His brother is the film journalist BK Karanjia.
