Russian Post

Potschta Rossii (Russian Федеральное государственное унитарное предприятие ( ФГУП ) « Почта России », dt: Post of Russia ) is the national postal operator of Russia. It is headquartered in Moscow and is a member of the Universal Postal Union.

History

Russia was in 1874 a founding member of the Universal Postal Union. In 1902 the postal system was the Russian Interior Ministry and 1917 respectively under the Ministry of Post and Telegraph under the Provisional Government. During the Second World War, the Soviet postal service experienced - now part of the People's Commissariat of Posts and telegraphs - a difficult test, when it came to maintaining the postal links between the German - Russian front and the hinterland. After the end of the Soviet Union, the Russian Post 1993 was transferred to the Russian Ministry of Post.

Reorganization as a national postal companies

Potschta Rossii was founded in 2002 on the basis of previous State Postal Bureau, which belonged to the Federal Post and Telecommunications Ministry.
