Russian Roulette is a song by Barbadian R & B singer Rihanna. The song is the first single from Rihanna's fourth studio album Rated R. It had had its radio debut on 20 October 2009. During an interview Rihanna explained that the song RELATES of a love game and nothing to do with the game of Russian roulette.
Commercial success
The song debuted on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 on November 7, 2009, No. 100 and reached number nine in the following week, so was Russian Roulette Rihanna's twelfth top ten hit in the U.S., but the song could only nine keep total weeks in the U.S. charts. It reached number nine in Canada. In Australia, Russian Roulette reached number eleven on the UK Singles Charts Russian Roulette reached second place and became Rihanna's eleventh top-five and top - ten hit in the UK. To date, the song has sold over three million copies worldwide. In the United Kingdom Russian Roulette was awarded silver for over 200,000 units sold. Russian Roulette reached in each country in which it was represented in the charts, the top ten, such as USA, Australia, UK, Canada, Germany, Austria, France, Switzerland and many other countries. The song reached number one in Norway, Slovakia and Switzerland.
Music Video
The Director for Music Video Anthony Mandler led. The video was shot on 23 October 2009, the shooting lasted two days. It had its premiere on November 13, 2009. The video shows Rihanna in different situations. In the first Rihanna is in an empty abandoned room, this scene is supposed to reflect the loneliness. In the next situation, Rihanna has an argument with her boyfriend (played by Jesse Williams), this scene is supposed to reflect the dispute with Chris Brown. In the third situation, Rihanna jumps into the water and shot there, this scene is supposed to reflect the separation of her boyfriend. In the last situation and scene Rihanna has apparently no longer interested in a relationship and they can deal well with the separation from her boyfriend.
