Ryan James Howard ( born November 19, 1979 in St. Louis) is an American professional baseball player. He plays since 2004 on the position of the first baseman for the Philadelphia Phillies in the National League of Major League Baseball.

Howard was drafted after his college days in the fifth round of the Phillies, he played until 2004 for various minor league farm team of the Club of Philadelphia, before he made his debut in the MLB on September 1, 2004. It was 2005 Rookie of the Year in the National League, an award for the best young rider selected. After an outstanding summer of 2006, where he was player of the month twice in a row ( August / September), we also chose him as MVP, as well as on the offensive best first baseman of 2006, the National League. Howard is only the second baseball player the first best young player and was MVP in two consecutive years.

In the playoffs, 2009, he was the first player in the history of the league to achieve in seven consecutive games at least one RBI.
