Ryōgoku Kokugikan

The Ryōgoku Kokugikan (Japanese両 国 国 技 馆), also known as sumo hall, a sports hall in Yokoami, Sumida, Tokyo Prefecture, Japan.

The original of the same building was located further south in the neighboring district Ryōgoku. The current building was opened in 1985, has a capacity of 13,000 seats and is the third building in Tokyo, which carries this name. It is mainly used for the staging of sumo tournaments ( Hon - basho ). Here you can find the hatsu basho (New Year tournament ) in January, the natsu basho (Summer Tournament ) in May, and the aki basho (Autumn Tournament ) held in September. A sumo museum is also housed in the building. In addition, the hall is also used for other events such as wrestling, boxing and concerts.
