Rıza Çalımbay

Riza Çalımbay (2013 )

Riza Çalımbay ( born February 2, 1963 in Sivas, Turkey ) is a former Turkish football player and coach who most recently worked at Çaykur Rizespor.

Playing career

Çalımbay spent 16 years active as a classical right-winger in Beşiktaş Istanbul and wrote as their captain nicknamed Atom Ant together with the footballer Trio Ali Gültiken, Metin Tekin and Feyyaz Ucar history.

At the end of the season 1995/96 he announced end of his career. With a scheduled on July 21, 1996 farewell match between Fenerbahçe and the Croatian club NK Varaždin he took leave from active football.

Coaching career

After ending his playing career Çalımbay worked as a trainer at Caykur Rizespor. A love introduced to his original club clause of his contract left to his move as a trainer to Beşiktaş Istanbul as successor by Vicente del Bosque in the current season on 27 January 2005.

Since October 2010 he has worked as a coach his home club and Süper Lig clubs Sivasspor. At season's end, he left with his end of the contract Sivasspor.

A few weeks after his departure from Siavasspor he took over for the third time Erstliganeuling Çaykur Rizespor. With Rizespor he experienced a successful start to the season and moved with his team after the 6th Round Table on the 2nd spot on. But was followed by a long series of defeats, so the team finished the first round at the 15th and penultimate place in the table. After this negative trend in the first match day of the season could not be averted and the club had slipped into the relegation zone, Çalımbay occurred after the 20th Round from his office.
