S-520

S -520 is the name of a Japanese single-stage sounding rocket. The manufactured by Nissan S -520 has a peak altitude of 430 km, a launch mass of 2200 kg and a diameter of 0.52 m and a length of 9.10 m. From 1980 to 2010 a total of 25 launches were held from Uchinoura Space Center.

The rocket is equipped with a second stage referred to as SS 520. In this variation, a peak altitude of 1108 km could be achieved.
