S Doradus

About 106 L ☉

S Doradus is the brightest star in the Large Magellanic Cloud, a satellite galaxy of the Milky Way. It is in the constellation to find swordfish (Latin Dorado, hence its name ), which is located on the southern hemisphere. S Doradus is a luminous Strong Blue variables, therefore it belongs to the hyper giants. Its brightness varies from 8 to 12 like I do. Some scientists suspect that it is a double star in S Doradus. However, this has not yet been proven.
