The SA Agulhas II is a South African, blank out as an icebreaker research vessel. It is the successor ship to the icebreaker also used in Cape Town SA Agulhas. The ship was built in Rauma, Finland and was taken in April 2012. On 4 April 2012, the ship left the port of Rauma in the direction of the new home port of Cape Town. There came on 3 May 2012 at the first time.

Inserts

The SA Agulhas II will be used to supply the South African research stations. These include the SANAE IV station in Antarctica, the research station on Marion Island in the Indian Ocean as well as the weather station on Gough Island in the South Atlantic Ocean. Furthermore, the road meteorological and oceanographic measurements are performed, including hydrographic measurements with a CTD rosette along the prime meridian in the Southern Ocean.
