S.O.B. (band)

S.O.B. (also Sabotage Organized Barbarian ) is a Japanese music group. It is one of the early representatives of Grindcore in Japan and had a great influence on the leading bands in the scene such as Napalm Death and Brutal Truth. History

Founded S.O.B. 1983 Osaka Japanese hardcore punk band. In 1985 the first demo Leave Me Alone appeared. Despite the English song title the lyrics are written mostly in Japanese. The debut album Do not Be Swindle published in 1987 by Selfish Records. Between S.O.B. and Shane Embury of the British grindcore band Napalm Death took place a lively tape -trading. Both Embury and Napalm Death drummer Mick Harris showed by SOB impressed and compared the music with the Americans winning. As part of the first joint tour of Japan with Napalm Death appeared in 1989, a split EP of both bands. A little later toured SOB, mediated by Napalm Death, by England. 1989 From this tour, appeared a live EP.

In October 1990, played S.O.B. in the radio broadcast by John Peel, the recordings were released under the title The Peel Sessions later than EP. Also in 1990 appeared the second studio album What 's the Truth? . After a live album and other EPs and singles were released with Gate of Doom (1993) and Vicious World ( 1994), two more studio albums. After the suicide of singer Tottsuan in 1994, who had thrown himself in front of a moving train, the band was originally placed on ice. In 1999, she volunteered with the EP Dub Grind and a founding member and bassist Naoto as a singer back in 2000 appeared a video compilation under the title History of ... SOB, which offered a musical cross-section from 1986 to 1999. The so far last studio album was released in 2003 by EMI Japan under the title Still Grind Attitude. Since then it has been quiet around the band, they are few concerts within Japan.
