Sääre is a village (Estonian küla ) in the rural community Pühalepa ( Pühalepa vald ). It is the second largest Estonian island of Hiiumaa ( German Dagö ), directly on the Baltic coast.

Description and History

Sääre today has 35 inhabitants ( 31 December 2011). The place was first mentioned in documents in 1565 under the name Sarle by. 1600 is a port listed, Sarle ham.

North of the village extends a two-kilometer long peninsula in the Baltic Sea, the Sääre nina. Your tip forms the north- eastern point of the island of Hiiumaa.
