Sabiha Sertel

Sabiha Sertel (* 1895 in Selânik, Ottoman Empire, † 1968 in Baku ) was the first Turkish journalist.

The middle school closed Sabiha Sertel from the InAs Lisesi and in a French school. She then studied at Columbia University. According to the Greek invasion in Selânik 1912 she and her family fled to Istanbul. In 1915 she married the journalist Mehmet Zekeriya Sertel. She was co-owner of the opposition newspaper " Tan".
