Sabine Verheyen

Sabine Verheyen ( born October 24, 1964 in Aachen ) is a German politician ( CDU). It belongs to the European Parliament the 7th parliamentary term (North Rhine -Westphalia, Rank 6).

She studied from 1983 to 1988 architecture at the FH Aachen and is a member of the CDU since 1990. From 1994 to 2009 she was a member of the Council and from 1999 to 2009 Mayor of the city of Aachen. She is also a member of the Euregio Council, since 2001 in the State Executive Committee of the CDU NRW and since 2002 in the State Executive Committee of the communal political union since 1999.

Sabine Verheyen is married and has three children.

Verheyen is in the Group of the European People's Party (Christian Democrats) and a member of the Committee on Culture and Education and the Delegation for relations with South Africa. As a deputy she's Committee on Internal Market and Consumer Protection and the Delegation for relations with Iran.
