Sadiq al-Ahmar

Sadiq al -Ahmar ( born October 6, 1956) is a Yemeni politician and militia leader. He's since the death of his father, the former founder and leader Abdallah ibn Husayn al -Ahmar, in December 2007, leaders of the Haschid - tribal confederation. He is currently (June 2011) also Vorsitzernder the Islamist party al - Islah ( Yemeni Assembly for Reform).

Life

In the wake of protests in Yemen in 2011, Sadiq al -Ahmar called on the Yemeni President Ali Abdullah Saleh ( who is also a member of the Haschid ), in his capacity as tribal leaders, on 21 March 2011 to resign. On May 23, it came near the house of Sadiq al -Ahmar in al - Hasba, a district of Sanaa, to heavy fighting between members of the Haschid and the security forces. On May 27, both parties agreed to come into force on May 29 truce that was broken but in the following days.
