Sadyattes

Sadyattes II (from the Lydian about "strong father " ) is, according to Herodotus, a king of Lydia in the years 629 BC to 618 BC (different sources go from 624 BC to 610 BC off).

He came from a dynasty of Mermnadae and was the son and successor of King Ardys II. Herodotus reported that Sadyattes the Cimmerians finally drove them out of Asia Minor, that he took the Greek city of Smyrna and also led war against Klazomenai and Miletus. Sadyattes was married to his sister. He died in an assassination attempt killed.
