Saeko Himuro

Saeko Himuro (冰 室 冴 子jap, Saeko Himuro; born January 11, 1957 in Iwamizawa on Hokkaidō as Saeko Usui (碓 井 小 恵 子, Usui Saeko ); † 6 June 2008) was a Japanese writer.

Himuro was the author of over three dozen novels, eight of which were adapted into a manga. More manga came from her own She also inspired other manga authors and various films and was in the 1980s and 90s, the most popular Shueisha writers. Best known outside of Japan, her novel Umi ga was kikoeru (Eng. I can hear the sea; engl The Ocean Waves. ), Which provided the template for the anime film Umi ga kikoeru of 1993.
