Safy Boutella

Safy Boutella ( born January 6, 1950 in Pirmasens ) is an Algerian jazz musician ( bass), film composer and actor.

Safy Boutella went first in Paris and Algiers to school before he earned his bachelor's degree until 1979 in music at Berklee College of Music from 1975. He then worked as a professional musician in various jazz formations. Subsequently, he worked with singers such as Cheb Khaled, with whom he 1988 studio album Kutche recorded. Boutella wrote the music for several films, such as Rachid Bouchareb for feature film Little Senegal and the film Mirka Rachid Benhadj from the year 1999. He worked as an actor in various productions and is the father of Algerian dancer Sofia Boutella.
